Artist Statement
Serious devotion is crucial in all of my projects. By creating images that evoke emotion, I feel that people are more likely to open up and discuss their own emotions and how they relate to my creation - the simplest way to connect with someone on a deeper level, without trying to find an explanation. When I'm creating something that I have an emotional attachment to, I tend to lose track of time completely. My attention to detail could almost be considered unnatural - blotchy paint and any unsmoothed edges drive me crazy - fluid transitions between shapes are a huge part of my two dimensional work. I am finding experimentation to be very important in seeing a single piece of art from multiple perspectives.
About the Artist
Biography: I was born and raised in Bishop, CA. I graduated 2 years early from continuation high school and later went on to attend my local junior college. I graduated from Cerro Coso Community College in 2013 with an Associate's Degree in Math & Science with an emphasis in Microbiology. I transferred to Humboldt State University the following semester where I changed my major to Studio Art. I have now received amazing one-on-one training with my teachers and have graduated with my Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences through higher education and look forward to where these degrees will take me in the future.
